College Group to Take Gifts to Orphanage

The Saddleback Community College District Faculty Assn. is preparing for its semiannual trip to the La Puerta de Fe orphanage in Baja California.
More than 20 faculty members, staff and students are planning to travel to the orphanage Dec. 2 bearing gifts for the children of food, clothing, school supplies, personal hygiene items, bedding, towels and cleaning and medical supplies.
The orphanage is home to about 75 children who range in age from infants to teenagers. The faculty association has been making the humanitarian pilgrimages to La Puerta for more than 10 years.
The group welcomes community donations of supplies or cash. Monetary gifts will be used to buy staples and vegetables for the children.
