* Update: The Panthers, who haven’t been seriously challenged in a Bay League game, defeated North Torrance, 49-16. They led, 42-0, at halftime.

* Update: The Griffins overcame a 20-0 second-half deficit and defeated Edison, 21-20. Blair Havens scored the winning touchdown on a 30-yard pass play from Sean Stein with 2:36 remaining.

* Next: Friday vs. Lynwood.
* Update: The Dons, playing without quarterback Jason Thomas, who was suspended for one week after being ejected from the previous week’s game, committed six turnovers in a 23-20 loss to Paramount.

* Update: Greg Cicero completed 16 of 21 passes for 306 yards and six touchdowns in a 76-0 victory over winless Santa Ana.

* Update: The Terriers took over sole possession of second place in the Citrus Belt League and clinched a playoff berth with a 45-6 victory over Colton.

* Update: The Huskies defeated Mountain View League rival Norco, 20-14, for the first time in their seven-year history. Damion Barton rushed for 159 yards.

* Update: The Cougars, who gave up only 48 points in their first eight games, surrendered nearly half as many in a 20-14 loss to Corona Centennial.

* Update: The Pirates ended a three-game losing streak to Banning with a 35-0 victory. San Pedro rushed for 284 yards, 92 from Rod Williams.

* Update: Michael Jones, who leads Orange Country in rushing, had 178 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-12 victory over Costa Mesa.

* Update: The Scorpions clinched their first Marmonte League title since 1984 with a 28-20 victory over Thousand Oaks. John Howe rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

* Next: Friday vs. Etiwanda at Chaffey College.
* Update: Deonce Whittaker rushed for 261 yards and five touchdowns in a 36-13 victory over previously undefeated Alta Loma. Whittaker has 97 touchdowns in his career.

* Next: Friday vs. Canyon Springs at Valley View High.
* Update: The Falcons remained undefeated in the Ivy League with a 63-20 victory over Ramona. Their game against Canyon Springs will decide the league title.

* Update: The Normans broke open a close game with 17 third-quarter points to earn a share of the Ocean League title with a 38-15 victory over Redondo.
* DROPPED OUT: No. 10 Alta Loma (8-1), lost to Rancho Cucamonga, 36-13; No. 13 Thousand Oaks (7-2), lost to Camarillo, 28-20; No. 14 La Puente Bishop Amat (6-3), lost to St. John Bosco, 42-37; No. 19 Goleta Dos Pueblos, lost to Oxnard, 35-27.
