BURBANK — A Los Angeles man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of fatally shooting a man authorities say had begun dating the suspect’s former girlfriend.
Denver Gomez, 44, was arrested in the early morning at his house on the 1100 block of North Westmoreland Avenue in Los Angeles, said Burbank Police Lt. Larry Koch.
Police say Alan Centurion, 29, of Burbank was shot about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday as he was getting out of a car in the 500 block of South Shelton Street in Burbank.
Koch said the motive for the killing appeared to be jealousy over a relationship between the victim and the suspect’s former girlfriend.
Gomez was booked on suspicion of murder at the Burbank City Jail and is being held without bail, Koch said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at Burbank Municipal Court.
