House of Fabrics Sells Distribution Center

House of Fabrics Inc. has sold a distribution center in Mauldin, S.C., for $8.35 million in cash.
House of Fabrics, a Sherman Oaks-based fabrics retailer, recently emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company now operates 267 stores in 34 states.
During its reorganization, the company closed many unprofitable stores, and last April it closed its Mauldin distribution center. The center was purchased by Beacon Manufacturing Co.
