Timberwolves Have Plenty in Reserve

Chris Carr not only had a career-high 17 points off the bench for the Timberwolves on Saturday night, but single-handedly outscored all the Laker reserves. Minnesota had a 37-14 advantage in that area.
“We just got really severely punished off the bench,” Laker Coach Del Harris said.
Only three Laker reserves scored: Travis Knight (five points), Kobe Bryant (five) and Byron Scott (four).

The four-point play by Nick Van Exel in the final second of the first quarter--with a three-point shot and free throw--was the third in Laker history. Cedric Ceballos and Anthony Peeler also did it. . . . The Lakers are off until Wednesday, when they play at Phoenix on national television.
