Mireille, 90, a singer honored by the French government for fostering careers in music. Born Mireille Hartuch, she co-wrote about 600 French popular songs and founded the Little Conservatory in Paris in 1955. Several young singers, including Francoise Hardy, who studied at the conservatory, became mainstays of popular French variety radio and television shows. Mireille starred in films with leading men Buster Keaton and Charles Boyer and was twice decorated by the French culture ministry. On Sunday in Paris.
