Trail Blazers Suspend Robinson

Forward Clifford Robinson was suspended for one game by the Portland Trail Blazers for his actions in a loss Wednesday night against Miami.
Robinson cursed at Coach P.J. Carlesimo after being removed from the game. Robinson will sit out Tuesday’s home game against Detroit.
Robinson is Portland’s second-leading scorer, averaging 15.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

Shawn Bradley, the NBA’s leading shot blocker, was hospitalized with pneumonia and is expected to remain there for more than a week, the New Jersey Nets said.
The 7-foot-6 center was admitted to the Hackensack Medical Center on Friday, spokesman John Mertz said. Bradley was ill Thursday, and missed practice and that night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Chicago Bull star Dennis Rodman said he would begin wearing Converse shoes, ending his reportedly $500,000-a-year endorsement deal with Nike.
Quoting an unnamed Nike official, the Oregonian of Portland reported Friday that Nike had little interest in extending Rodman’s endorsement contract because his off-court antics had crossed the “thin line” beyond acceptable notoriety.
