Laker update--They reach the halfway point of the season having lost two in a row for the first time since early November and two consecutive games at home for the first time in 10 months. Another defeat today would mean the Lakers’ first three-game overall skid in 12 1/2 months.

Maverick update--Sam Cassell and A.C. Green, acquired from Phoenix in the Jason Kidd trade in late December, are both starting. Green, his streak of consecutive appearances at 850, is averaging eight rebounds a game as a Maverick, a nice contribution for someone playing 27.6 minutes.
