A motorcyclist was injured Tuesday after he lost control of his vehicle and apparently was hit by an 18-wheel truck, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Gary Ray, a 44-year-old Corona resident, was headed west on the Riverside Freeway when he fell and the big rig hit him, Officer Denise Medina said. The trucker did not stop, but Medina said the driver may not have known what had happened.
Ray was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was coherent but suffering from head trauma Tuesday, Medina said. The motorcyclist was in serious condition and remained in the surgical intensive care unit, said Nancy Rhomberg, house supervisor at the hospital.
