Last-minute tax assistance will be available tonight at the Oxnard office of the Internal Revenue Service.
Members of the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, IRS employees and Tax Counseling for the Elderly Volunteers will offer this year’s “Midnight Madness” counseling session.
“Midnight Madness” is actually scheduled to run from 4 to 10 p.m., but will be extended to midnight if taxpayers keep coming in for help.
Completed federal and state forms can be dropped off. And for those getting a very late start, federal and state forms will be available, along with federal extension forms and installment agreement papers.
IRS Revenue Agent Vernon Wood said tax forms may be picked up at the IRS office in Oxnard today beginning at 8 a.m. Last-minute filers may also call their local post office or library to see if they still have forms left, Wood said.
Wood may be reached at 988-6207. The IRS office is located at 2500 Financial Square, Suite 1, near Vineyard Avenue and Ventura Boulevard.
