Today’s “Dash Against Trash” Earth Week Run will help benefit Placentia Library.
The event at Placentia Linda Community Hospital, 1301 N. Rose Drive, features 8K and 5K runs for adults as well as a 1K “Fun Run” for children.
The fee is $20 for adults and $12 for children 12 and younger.
Registration will begin at 6 a.m., the 5K at 8 a.m., the 8K at 8:45 a.m. and the 1K at 10 a.m.
A shuttle service will start at 6 a.m. to take participants to the race start from El Dorado High School, 1651 N. Valencia Ave., where they can park.
Awards will be given in various age groups and all participants will receive T-shirts, a water bottle, a flying disc and other items. Children in the fun run will receive commemorative medals.
The Earth Week Run will also benefit education programs about recycling in local schools, Placentia’s community recreation centers and Combined Health Appeal of California.
