A 31-year-old Oxnard man suffered minor injuries Friday during a fire at a coffee bean roasting plant in Camarillo.
Jesse Martinez was working in the warehouse at International Coffee & Tea Inc., 4580 Calle Alto, when flames erupted at about 7 a.m., authorities said.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded, and the fire was out 10 minutes later. Officials said the building’s sprinkler system put out the fire.
Martinez was taken by ambulance to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital, where he was treated for a sore throat and nasal irritation caused by smoke inhalation, said Robert Snyder, field operations supervisor for MedTrans Ambulance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
