Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend the eighth annual A T & T Fiesta Broadway on Sunday. The free event is the largest Cinco de Mayo celebration in the country.
The fiesta runs from noon to 6 p.m. and fills a 36 square-block area of downtown along Broadway, Hill and Spring streets.
Dozens of top Latino music acts will perform throughout the day on seven stages.
There will also be food, pinatas, games and entertainment booths throughout the giant party.
Soccer fans can also meet stars of the Los Angeles Galaxy at the A T & T Super Site.
Vehicular traffic in the fiesta area will be prohibited from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Entry will be at temporary gates, where security officers will conduct checks.
Gates open at 11 a.m.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Mexican Cultural Institute and the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
