Royal Rolls Past Camarillo, 12-2

Matt Rainer pitched a six-hitter and Royal High pounded 16 hits Friday in a 12-2 rout of Camarillo to take the Marmonte League lead at Royal.
Royal (11-6, 7-1 in league play) has a half game lead over Camarillo (17-4-1, 6-1-1), which trounced the Highlanders, 18-1, in a league opener last month.
Tyrone Kimbrough had a home run, a single and five runs batted in for Royal, which led, 6-1, in the third after chasing Ryan Geisler (4-1) in the second.
Matt Pesso had two hits and three RBIs, and Mike Rainer had two hits for the Highlanders.
Joe Yingling had a home run and a single for Camarillo.
Newbury Park 10, Agoura 3--Chris Thogerson (4-4) had 12 strikeouts and walked three while pitching the first six and the final two-thirds of an inning for the Panthers (9-11, 1-7) in a Marmonte League game at Agoura.
Cody Biggerstaff started the seventh inning for Newbury Park, but allowed two runs.
Thousand Oaks 13, Channel Islands 12--R.J. Key and Nick Smith scored on Shea Johnson’s fielder’s choice in the bottom of the ninth for the Lancers in a Marmonte League game.
Dave Perry had three hits and two RBIs, and Johnson had two hits. including a double and three RBIs, for Thousand Oaks (10-9, 3-5).
Simi Valley 5, Westlake 4--Darren Campbell singled home Jason Meyer with the winning run in the sixth for the Pioneers in a Marmonte League game at Simi Valley.
Dave Krewson had three hits, including a two-run double in the fifth that tied the score, 4-4, for Simi Valley (12-7, 5-3).
Joey Cuppari had three hits and Ryan Cope had two hits, including his sixth home run, for Westlake (12-5-1, 5-2-1).
Buena 18, Oxnard 8--Eddie Loya had four hits and three stolen bases, scored three runs and drove in two for the Bulldogs (7-5-1, 3-4-1) in a Channel League game at Oxnard (4-7-2, 1-7).
Mike Firck had three hits, drove in three runs and scored twice for Buena, and Rudy Delao contributed a pair of two-run doubles.
Antelope Valley 10, Palmdale 1--Brett Roth and Sean Douglass had three-run home runs during a seven-run second inning for the Antelopes (13-7, 6-0) in a Golden League game at Palmdale.
Chris Wurster and Brandon Sadler added homers in the seventh inning for Antelope Valley.
Douglass (4-1) scattered eight hits, allowed an unearned run, struck out 11 and walked two.
Alex Flores was three for three for Palmdale (14-5, 4-3).
Quartz Hill 8, Littlerock 3--Brian West had two hits, including a double, drove in a run and scored one for the Rebels (10-8, 2-6) in a Golden League game at Littlerock.
Highland 17, Montclair Prep 4--Danny Galvan had a two-run home run, a two-run double and a one-run double for the Bulldogs (8-11) at Montclair Prep.
Valencia 6, Canyon 5--Louie Miller singled to drive in Marty Mears with the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Vikings (12-7, 5-4) in a Foothill League game at Canyon.
Mears walked and took third on a pinch double by Chris Northway.
Saugus 13, Burbank 0--Chris Mayberry hit a home run for the sixth consecutive game and Brent Pellico tied a school record by going five for five for the Centurions (10-8-1, 6-3) in a Foothill League game at Burbank (2-16, 0-9).
Ron Clark had a three-hitter and eight strikeouts for Saugus.
Alemany 16, Harvard-Westlake 7--Brandon MacKay was four for four with two home runs, a double, three RBIs, and three runs for the Indians in a Mission League game at Franklin Field.
Joe Melargno was four for five with four RBIs for the Indians (10-9, 3-5).
Matt Berkson had two hits, including a home run and three runs batted in for Harvard-Westlake (3-9, 1-4).
Calabasas 11, Santa Paula 6--Home runs by Matt Sagoian and Robby Coppola highlighted a 13-hit attack for the Coyotes (18-2, 9-0) in a Frontier League game at Calabasas.
Sagoian’s fourth home run, a two-run shot in the third inning, gave Calabasas a 5-4 lead.
Coppola had a double and a home run.
Rick Stockton was three for three, including two doubles, and drove in three runs for Calabasas.
Dusty England (1-0) pitched two perfect innings.
Willie Zavala had two home runs for Santa Paula (3-13, 3-6).
Oak Park 29, Bishop Diego 2--Scott Christensen had five hits and four runs RBIs, and Gene Holgrafer had four hits, including two home runs and six RBIs, for the Eagles (11-6, 6-1) in a Tri-Valley League game at Oak Park.
Village Christian 6, L.A. Baptist 2--Jeremy Gonzales’ fourth-inning grand slam snapped a 2-2 tie and lifted the Crusaders (8-12, 6-1) into a first-place tie with the Knights (11-6, 6-1) in an Alpha League game at Tujunga Senior League Field.
Gonzales (3-4), a freshman right-hander, pitched a three-hitter.
Santa Clara 12, Malibu 11--Michael Allen hit a run-scoring double and Ryan Baker followed with a run-scoring single for the Saints (6-8, 4-5) in Frontier League game at Malibu.
