Job Cuts, Bonus

* Two of your April 22 headlines are beyond my understanding (and belief!): “$375,000 Deal For Chief’s Departure Reported Reached,” and “Planned County Budget to Cut 1,200 Health Jobs.” We have already laid off numerous health department nurses and physicians, giving no such monetary deals and with a great price being paid by all of us because of the increasing lack of health care in our county.
At the same time, our tax dollars are being given to a single individual who is fulfilling a five-year contract with our local government. A sad commentary on our local governments.
