Stanford Handles Texas With Ease

Ryan Wolters, Mike Bryan and Paul Goldstein posted victories for third-seeded Stanford as the Cardinal defeated 12th-seeded Texas, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the NCAA men’s tennis championships at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
Wolters, ranked No. 11, defeated Texas’ Paul Martin, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2, in the featured match.
“I started out the third set real well, broke him, and that carried me to the win,” Wolters said.

The Stanford women’s tennis team avenged its only loss of the season with a crushing 5-1 victory over top-seeded Florida to win the NCAA women’s tennis team championship at Stanford.
Stanford’s Lilia Osterloh defeated Florida’s No. 1 player, Dawn Buth, 6-3, 6-1.
