Alleged Drug Lord Extradited to U.S.

Wearing a blue suit and tie over a bulletproof vest, a Colombian alleged to have smuggled 30 tons of cocaine into the United States was extradited to New York for trial. Justo Pastor Perafan, who Colombian officials say is worth $10 billion, was delivered to Drug Enforcement Administration officials at a Caracas air base for the flight. The 50-year-old Perafan had been held since April 18 in a cell at military intelligence headquarters after being arrested for trying to enter Venezuela illegally.
