Memorial Day Parades and Fairs

Memorial Day will be marked by parades in Canoga Park and Topanga Canyon on Monday.
The ninth annual Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Sherman Way and Owensmouth Avenue. A Western Days Fair will also be part of the celebration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Vanowen Street and Jordan Avenue. Information: (818) 884-4222.
In addition, the Madrid Theatre Performing Arts Festival will be held after the parade. The festival, which will feature food and live music, will run from 12:30 to 6 p.m. on Sherman Way between Owensmouth and Remmet avenues. Information: (213) 485-0709.
In Topanga Canyon, the often-irreverent parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Old Topanga Canyon Road and Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
Also, a Memorial Day ceremony will include a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force at 11 a.m. at the World War II Memorial at George Izay Park, 1111 W. Olive Ave., Burbank. Information: (818) 238-5560.
