From Associated Press

First-day leader Annika Sorenstam converted a six-foot putt worth $140,000 on the 14th hole and finished with $220,000 to win the title in the JCPenney-LPGA Skins Game Sunday at Frisco, Texas.

Sorenstam, who won $80,000 during Saturday’s opening nine holes, lipped out from seven feet at the 13th hole, a putt that would have been worth $100,000. But she birdied the par-three 14th, giving her eight skins in the two-day made-for-TV event.

Defending champion Laura Davies, shut out over the opening nine holes, made a 12-footer worth $140,000 and five skins on Sunday’s opening hole, the 10th. The $140,000 gave Davies second place and boosted her winnings to $620,000 in three Skins Game appearances, the most over the seven-year history of the event.
