Input Sought on Fairview Park Project
The city wants input from the public on how to improve Fairview Park.
A workshop later this month will give residents a glimpse of a proposed master plan for sprucing up the long-neglected facility on Placentia Avenue. Officials are planning a major overhaul.
A proposal to convert a portion of the park into a golf course recently was withdrawn by the developer after it was revealed that the plan might displace a popular model railroad that gives free rides.
The workshop will include a brief video presentation on existing conditions at the park. After that, three conceptual improvement plans that have been developed with the Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee and the City Council will be shown.
A question-and-answer session will follow. Comments and suggestions will be recorded and forwarded to the council.
The meeting will be at noon June 28 in council chambers, City Hall, 77 Fair Drive.
