Mercury Ends Six-Game Slide

Bridget Pettis scored 23 points and Toni Foster added 16 points and eight rebounds at Phoenix as the Mercury beat the Sacramento Monarchs, 83-60, before 10,898 Monday night to snap a six-game losing streak.
Jennifer Gillom had 14 points and Marlies Askamp 12 for the Mercury (9-9). Ruthie Bolton-Holifield had 22 points for the Monarchs (5-14), who lost their ninth in a row.
Utah 73, Charlotte 70--Elena Baranova and Tammy Reiss each scored 17 points to lead the Starzz (6-13) past the Sting (10-8) before 6,526 at Salt Lake City.
The loss ended a four-game winning streak for the Sting.
