Blades Could Lose More Than Series

The Los Angeles Blades will try to stay alive in the Roller Hockey International playoffs tonight when they play the Anaheim Bullfrogs at the Pond at 7:30. In fact, the Blades will be trying to stay alive, period.

Blade General Manager Tim Ryan said that owners Jerry and Jeanie Buss are considering whether to continue in the league, fold the team or go on hiatus in 1998.

If the Blades lose tonight, the series is over and Anaheim will advance to the Western Conference final round. If the Blades win, a 12-minute game will be played immediately to determine the series winner.
