Barry Points to Martin

Clipper guard Brent Barry loves playing with Darrick Martin.
“Now I know how Eddie Jones feels,” Barry said after getting 23 points, six rebounds and four assists in Thursday night’s 82-78 victory over the Golden State Warriors.
“There’s no chance of me scoring unless I get the ball,” said Barry, who was moved to shooting guard after two games at the point. “Darrick just kept pushing the ball up.”

Forward Lorenzen Wright was disgusted after getting a season-low two rebounds in a 15-point loss at San Antonio on Dec. 10.
“I didn’t do my job,” Wright said.
But Wright has been very productive since.
After getting a season-high 14 rebounds in last Tuesday’s loss to the Seattle SuperSonics, Wright had a career-high 17 in Thursday night’s victory.
“We had a team meeting and I told the guys I wasn’t rebounding like I was supposed to,” said Wright, who has averaged 10.2 rebounds in his last four games.

Coach Bill Fitch probably won’t share a hot-fudge sundae with former Clipper center Stanley Roberts before tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
When Fitch reinstated Roberts after he had been suspended for insubordination in training camp last season, he said he’d rather have a hot-fudge sundae with Roberts than coach him.
Traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Stojko Vrankovic in a draft-day deal last June, Roberts has started 11 consecutive games and is shooting 50% this month.
Vrankovic, who had averaged four points and 4.5 rebounds in his last four games, played 23 scoreless minutes against the Warriors.
