Delta Air Lines and SkyWest Airlines said they have agreed to a five-year extension of their Delta Connections regional feeder arrangements in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. St. George, Utah-based SkyWest will provide service as a commuter partner under the Delta code designator from Los Angeles to eight destinations. At Los Angeles, Delta operates 61 flights daily, with nonstop service to 21 destinations, while SkyWest offers 112 flights nonstop to 13 destinations. Salt Lake City is Delta’s third-largest hub, with 177 Delta flights daily to 50 nonstop destinations and 101 SkyWest flights to 32 nonstop destinations. The new contract continues a marketing relationship begun in 1987, at the time of Delta’s merger with Western Air Lines. The following year, Atlanta-based Delta acquired 20% of the equity interest of SkyWest Inc.
