Ventura County Municipal Court judges have appointed Kent Kellegrew as a Ventura County traffic trial commissioner.
Kellegrew, a Thousand Oaks resident, was selected from 23 applicants for the position, in which he will hear traffic cases in Room 10 of the county courthouse.
He is scheduled to be sworn in Oct. 17 and begin his new job Oct. 20.
Kellegrew is currently a senior partner and trial attorney in the litigation department of the Oxnard-based law firm Nordman, Cormany, Hair and Compton.
He previously served as a deputy district attorney for the county and as judicial attorney with the California District Court of Appeal in Ventura.
“Commissioner Kellegrew’s knowledge and experience will be of tremendous benefit to the Ventura County courts,” said Municipal Judge Barry Klopfer in a released statement. “We are looking forward to having Commissioner Kellegrew with us.”
