Inspired by a national conference earlier this year promoting volunteerism, Santa Ana Mayor Miguel A. Pulido Jr. will hold a session today to connect volunteers from local businesses with nonprofit organizations.
Pulido and Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairman William G. Steiner were among hundreds of public officials nationwide who traveled to Philadelphia in April for the Presidents’ Summit for America’s Future.
Friday’s conference, called “Santa Ana’s Promise,” is the precursor to a countywide conference planned for spring, Pulido said. The mayor said he expects about 150 nonprofit organizations, local businesses and community members to swap information during the four-hour session.
