Seniors Snapping Up New Low-Income Apartment Units
- Share via
The city’s only apartment complex built specifically for low-income senior citizens is officially open, and units are going fast.
Officials with the Seal Beach-based Olson Co. said that senior citizens who meet the county’s income guidelines are already lining up to rent the 35 units. Rents range from $560 to $660 per month. A grand opening on Thursday marked the completion of a project to build a total of 97 affordable homes at La Palma Avenue and Denni Street.
“This is really the last and only opportunity the city will have to build affordable housing, because we are built out after this,” City Manager Daniel E. Keen said.
The $15-million project began about three years ago, when public and private groups joined to build the three developments. Information: (714) 282-2520.
