Ventura 26, Santa Barbara 21--Ismael Martin rushed 29 times for 109 yards and four touchdowns for Ventura (2-3, 1-1) at Santa Barbara (2-3, 0-2).
The Cougars rushed for 210 of their 339 yards, making 14 of their 23 first downs on the ground. They held the ball for 31:23, while the Dons only had 15:47 of possession.
The Cougar defense stopped Santa Barbara twice inside the Ventura 20-yard line, including a goal-line stand at the beginning of the third quarter to stop a 10-play, 38-yard drive following a 52-yard kickoff return by Gabe Marquez.
