Carpenter Helps Nail Poly, 68-0

Donald Carpenter rushed for 160 yards and four touchdowns in only 12 carries as eighth-ranked Sylmar routed winless Poly, 68-0, in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Sylmar on Friday night.
Carpenter, a senior, scored on runs of 17 and 19 yards in the first half as the Spartans sprinted out to a 41-0 advantage.
Carpenter added touchdown runs of three and nine yards in the third quarter for Sylmar (4-1, 2-0 in conference play).
Sylmar out-gained Poly, 573 yards to 35.
Albert Diaz rushed for 48 yards in 20 carries for Poly (0-5, 0-2).
