Spotlight: Irvine Start-Up to Get a Big Boost

Alyn Corp., an Irvine-based company stuck in start-up mode since it was founded in 1989, has signed a series of deals in recent months that will add millions to its annual revenue and turn it into a full-fledged production manufacturer of automotive- and sporting-goods components. Its most recent contract is also likely to give it a big boost: Alyn next year will begin providing a key component for General Motors Corp.’s EV-1 electric car. The contract’s value is expected to be worth several million dollars.
