Crescenta Valley High will play host to La Serna in a nonleague matchup of top Southern Section Division III water polo teams at 3:15 today at Crescenta Valley.
Justin Payne and Kenny Carpenter will be counted on to spark the Crescenta Valley offense and goalie Brian Hasbrouck will be in the net for the Falcons (13-2), ranked fourth in Division III.
La Serna, ranked fifth in Division III, has two-meter men Jordan Walberger and Jordan Keitel. Jared Green will be playing his first match since suffering a broken hand in the first match of the season.
Another water polo match at 3:15 has Royal, the third-ranked team in Division IV, at Mira Costa, top-ranked in Division III.
The Highlanders (15-3) have David Radka and goalie Garrett Herzer.

Men’s water polo: All day, Pierce, Ventura in Cypress-Long Beach tournament at Long Beach City College.
Girls’ tennis: At 2:30 p.m., Westlake vs. Harvard-Westlake at Studio City Racquet Club; at 3 p.m., Brentwood at Buckley; at 3:30 p.m., Calabasas at Flintridge Sacred Heart.
