In another Northwest Valley Conference game:
Chatsworth 34, Birmingham 33--A fourth-quarter interception by Chatsworth senior Jorge Rocha set up an 11-run touchdown run Clyde Young that gave the Chancellors a victory despite 320 yards rushing by the Braves’ Emmanuel Evans at Birmingham.
Rocha returned the interception 32 yards, putting the ball at the Braves’ 28 yard-line with four minutes remaining.
Young scored on the fifth play from there, handing Birmingham (5-1, 2-1) its first loss of the season.
An 86-yard scoring run by Evans with eight minutes left put Birmingham up 33-21, but Young moved Chatsworth closer with a 17-yard scoring run with a little more than four minutes left.
Young rushed 102 yards in 14 carries for Chatsworth (3-3, 1-2).
Evans carried 24 times and scored on runs of nine, seven, 40 and 86 yards.
Chatsworth quarterback Matt Cassel completed 11 of 27 passes for 145 yards. He hit Chris Tapia twice in the end zone of passes of 29 and seven yards.
