It wasn’t a record, but it was remarkable nonetheless when Bloomington High scored a 94-0 victory over Paloma Valley at Bloomington Friday night.
The California record for most points in a game is 141 by Santa Rosa High, set in 1924. In fact, the score does not even qualify for the top 10--the 10th highest is 122.
Among the notable performances for Bloomington (4-2 overall, 1-0 in Sunkist League games) were those of LaRon Cole and Montise Mallory. Cole had 149 yards in three carries and scored on runs of 14 and 81 yards and had a 28-yard fumble return for a score. Mallory rushed for 149 yards in seven carries with touchdown runs of 49, 10 and 34 yards. Mallory also scored on a 20-yard interception return.
