Deadline Nears for Parade, Booth Entries
The deadline for parade and booth entries for the 18th annual Moorpark Country Days is less than two weeks away and organizers say they have less than a quarter of the number they expect.
As of last week, only 15 groups had registered for the Sept. 27 festival, although the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce, which is organizing the event, expects about 80 participants. The deadline for entries is Sept. 15.
The annual celebration of Moorpark pride includes a parade, which will begin at the intersection of Moorpark and Poindexter avenues and end at High and Magnolia streets. Traditionally, the city’s biggest shindig includes bands, floats, horse-drawn carriages and the Wells Fargo stagecoach.
In addition, the festival will include live music, food and entertainment.
