Matthews Studio to Buy Grip and Lighting Business

Matthews Studio Equipment Group has reached an agreement to acquire Walt Disney’s Production Service Inc.’s grip and lighting business in Orlando, Fla., for $3.1 million in cash.
Matthews Studio said it also signed an exclusive seven-year deal to provide grip, lighting and video equipment to Disney/MGM Studios in Florida.
Matthews Studio, headquartered in Burbank, is a designer, manufacturer and provider of video, camera, lighting and other equipment for film, television and commercial photography customers worldwide.
