Compact Parking Could be Eliminated

Squeezing a sport-utility truck into a compact parking space can be a difficult task, so the city will consider dropping requirements for small spaces as part of a major overhaul of zoning laws.
“Cars are getting bigger again, trucks are getting more popular and the compact parking stall was not a well thought out idea,” City Manager Robert Dominguez said. “What worked in the early ‘70s isn’t working in the ‘90s.”
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in City Hall, 3191 Katella Ave. Information: (562) 431-3538 or (714) 827-8670.
