Hauxhurst, Tuskewicz Lead Westminster

Lacy Hauxhurst hit two home runs and Tina Tuskewicz struck out six as the Westminster defeated La Quinta, 12-3, in a nonleague softball game at Westminster.
Hauxhurst hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning and a three-run homer in the seventh for the Lions.
In other nonleague games:
Laguna Hills 4, San Clemente 1--Leea Harlan pitched a two-hitter in the season opener for Laguna Hills (1-0). Erin Larsen had a two-run double in the second inning for Hawks.
Los Amigos 13, Anaheim 0 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Junior Kim Guillen pitched a no-hitter with six strikeouts for Los Amigos (1-0).
Mater Dei 1-3, West Hills Chaminade 0-0--Jamie Bagnall had the winning RBI in the fifth inning for host Mater Dei in the first game. In the second game, Jessica Young had a two-run single in the fifth and her older sister, Marissa, struck out eight.
Orange Lutheran 5, Bullhead City (Ariz.) River Valley 0--Jessica Edwards pitched a perfect game with 10 strikeouts for Orange Lutheran.
Pacifica 1, Ocean View 0--Amanda Freed’s two-out run-scoring single in the first scored Toria Auelua. Freed also pitched a one-hitter, striking out 14 of the 21 hitters she faced, for host Pacifica (1-0).
Rancho Alamitos 6, Orange 3-- April Salazar’s bases-loaded double in the top of the seventh inning gave the Vaqueros a 4-2 lead.
Santa Margarita 4, Aliso Niguel 2-- Santa Margarita’s Karlie Reiss went three-for three with two RBIs and a run scored as the Eagles (1-0) defeated Aliso Niguel.
In the Fullerton Tournament:
Rosary 18, Bolsa Grande 0 (4 innings, time limit)--Tymarie Novak had three hits, two run, two RBIs and four steals in a pool play victory for Rosary (1-0).
In nonleague boys’ swimming:
Buena Park 89, Katella 80--Jeremy Janton won the 50 freestyle in 24 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1 minute 6.3 seconds, after helping Katella (1-0) win the 200 medley relay in 1:51.6.
La Habra 115, Whittier California 52--Julian Belagardi won the 50 freestyle (24.34) in a victory for La Habra (1-0). Belagardi also won the 100 freestyle (53.99) for the host Highlanders.
In nonleague boys’ tennis:
Esperanza 10, Diamond Bar 8--Esperanza (3-0) won four of its last six sets to break a 6-6 tie going into the second round. Tom Lloyd swept in singles, 7-5, 6-1, 6-1.
In nonleague volleyball:
El Dorado 3, Claremont 0--Aaron Mills had nine kills to lead host El Dorado (2-0) to a 15-8, 15-7, 15-11, victory.
Laguna Hills 3, Brea Olinda 0--Sep Dadestan had 10 kills for host Laguna Hills (2-1), which won, 15-3, 15-1, 15-3.
Loara 3, Cerritos 0--Mike Eshelmen’s 12 kills led Loara (1-0) to a 15-2, 15-10, 15-13, victory.
Valencia 3, La Quinta 0--Brian Bartczak had nine kills in a victory for Valencia (3-0), 15-2, 15-2, 15-4.
