Seized Drug Scales Donated to School
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Monday donated 20 scales confiscated from drug dealers to math and science classes at Kennedy Elementary School in Artesia.
Sheriff Sherman Block presented the finely tuned scales to Principal Dennis Wilson for the school’s math and science classes.
“They are quite a gift to the school,” said Wilson, noting that the $400 scales are much better than the scales currently used by the students.
Once the scales have been used as evidence to prosecute the criminals, the Sheriff’s Department gives the equipment to schools making requests to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
