Chatsworth Finished by Walk With Bases Full

Priscilla Baca walked with the bases loaded with one out in the seventh inning to give the Granada Hills High softball team a 1-0 victory over Chatsworth in a City Section 4-A Division first-round playoff game Thursday at Granada Hills.
Amy Matthews (10-11) pitched a five-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk for Granada Hills.
The Highlanders (11-11-1) play at top-seeded El Camino Real (17-2) in a quarterfinal game Monday.
Chatsworth finished 5-9.
In other 4-A first-round games:
Sylmar 8, Taft 0--Casondra Acosta pitched a no-hitter and Valerie Hernandez had three hits for the fourth-seeded Spartans (14-5) in a victory at Sylmar.
Acosta struck out five, walked two and retired the last 15 batters.
Krystal Mejia had two hits and drove in a run, and Teresa Estrada and Denise Fierro hit consecutive doubles to spark a two-run fifth inning.
Sylmar scored twice in the first, third and fourth innings.
Sylmar will host fifth-seeded Banning in the quarterfinals.
Taft finished 6-10.
Monroe 4, Cleveland 3--Cori Jordahl hit a two-run homer in the third for what proved to be the difference for the Vikings (12-7) at Monroe.
Cleveland (10-6) made a late run with three runs in the sixth on two walks and run-scoring singles by Letizia Lucero, Angela Veliz and Kristy Schultz.
Seventh-seeded Monroe will play at second-seeded San Pedro in the quarterfinals.
Banning 8, San Fernando 0--Ninette Martinez (12-6) pitched a no-hitter and struck out 11, facing four batters over the minimum for the Pilots (16-7) at the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce softball complex.
Ann Marie Herrera (6-5) of San Fernando (15-13) allowed seven hits and five earned runs while walking seven.
Carson 15, Reseda 0--Tawny Marquez singled in the fourth inning and Kristijana Lewis singled
in the fifth for the only Reseda hits, and the Regents (6-9) were eliminated at Carson.
Jessica Ruiz had four hits for Carson, including a run-scoring double in a five-run first inning. Nicole Sander hit a three-run homer in the second.
3-A DIVISION
Verdugo Hills 16, Bravo Medical 0--Kim Wood pitched a no-hitter with 19 strikeouts, and Nikki Shaw had four hits, including a grand slam and two-run homer for the third-seeded Dons (20-5) in a first-round victory at Verdugo Hills.
Wood (18-4) allowed only a two-out walk in the first inning.
Shaw hit a first-inning double and a third-inning single.
Kristin Seder hit a two-run triple during an 11-run fourth inning and a run-scoring single in the fifth for Verdugo Hills.
South Gate 11, Grant 0--The Lancers, seeded 15th, fell to the second-seeded and defending champion Rams in a first-round game at South Gate Park.
