Traffic on California freeways and highways is expected to be nearly 7% higher than normal between Wednesday and Sunday night as people celebrate Thanksgiving, the busiest holiday travel weekend of the year.
The most popular travel day is expected to be Wednesday, with traffic volumes nearly 18% above normal, according to a spokesman for Caltrans. As many folks return home on Sunday, traffic is expected to be nearly 8% higher than usual.
