Bell-Jeff 32, St. Genevieve 6--Edward Chaidez rushed for 127 yards in 21 carries and Richard Tobias scored two touchdowns for the Guards (2-2) in a Santa Fe League opener at Burroughs High.
Chaidez, who has rushed for 547 in 87 carries, scored on four conversion runs, recovered a fumble and caught a 35-yard pass.
Tobias scored on a four-yard pass from Tim Cormier and an 11-yard run that gave Bell-Jeff a 16-0 lead after the first quarter.
Cormier rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown in eight carries and completed two of four passes for 39 yards and a touchdown.
St. Genevieve (0-4), which has been outscored, 150-36, was outgained by a 316-116 margin and held to 22 yards passing.
