Niumata broke the county record for touchdowns in a game, scoring eight in a 71-46 Garden Grove League victory over Bolsa Grande. The previous record, seven, was held by Heritage Christian’s Paul Caffrey and Western’s Trevell Jackson. Niumata finished with 416 yards in 15 carries.

* Saddleback, junior. Noon scored 10 goals and had three assists and five steals in a victory over Westminster.
Alfonso Leon/Cross-Country
* Santa Ana, senior. Leon ran 15:10 to win the boys’ individual title at the Orange County Championships in Irvine.
Josh Herrera/Football/Running back
* La Habra, junior. Herrera rushed for 387 yards and four touchdowns in La Habra’s upset victory over Troy.
