Servite’s Brian Wolfe, who led Orange County high school pitchers in strikeouts last season, said Monday he has made an oral commitment to sign with Cal State Fullerton.
Wolfe, a right-hander, had an 11-2 record with 139 strikeouts as a junior. His earned-run average was 1.37. He led Servite to its second consecutive Golden West League championship.
Wolfe, who was chosen to The Times Orange County 1998 all-county baseball team, said he also considered Florida and Florida State.
“Fullerton has a good program and good coaches, and I always wanted to play there,” he said.
