El Dorado Wins League Golf Title

El Dorado clinched the Empire League girls’ golf title with a 147-153 victory over Cypress Tuesday at Dad Miller.
Sarah Yarbrough shot a 10-over 45 to lead El Dorado (6-0 in league). Remy Hitomi also shot a 45 for Cypress (4-2).
Both teams qualified for the team playoffs Nov. 9 at Temeku Golf Club in Temecula.
In the Century League:
Canyon 153, Villa Park 153 (Canyon wins on fourth player score)--Jenna Quaranta led Canyon (8-3, 5-0) with a 12-over 48 at Green River. But it was Heather Canada’s score of 61 that gave the Comanches the victory.
In the Orange League:
Valencia 113, Savanna 164--Nikki Glowin shot a one-under 29 at Brea to lead Valencia (15-1, 12-1) to the league title.
In the South Coast League:
Mission Viejo 162, San Clemente 162 (Mission Viejo wins on fourth score, 61-62)--Monica Dalton shot a 14-over 50 for Mission Viejo (7-10, 5-4) in the upset at Pacific.
In the Sunset League:
Marina 130, Fountain Valley 173--Courtney Goebel had a birdie and four pars en route to a three-over 39 finish for Marina (13-1, 7-0) at Meadowlark.
In Sunset League field hockey:
Edison 2, Glendora 0--Emily Nehrig and Rachael Timoti scored as Edison (12-0-1) finished the regular season undefeated.
Fountain Valley 1, Santa Ana 0--Jenny Black scored in the 16th minute of the first half and Jennifer Ma made four saves for Fountain Valley (6-0-7).
In Century League girls’ tennis:
Villa Park 14, Foothill 4--Jasmine Cheung and sister Tiffany continued their doubles’ winning streak with 6-1, 6-4, 6-0 victories. The sisters are is 21-0 for the season. Villa Park is 9-6, 8-0.
In the Freeway League:
No. 10 Sunny Hills 11, La Habra 7--Iris Yuan won, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, to lead Sunny Hills (11-3, 7-1). La Habra is 12-6, 4-4.
In the Sea View League:
No. 2 Corona del Mar 14, Irvine 4--Leslie Damion won 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in singles to lead Corona del Mar (12-2, 6-1). The Sea Kings also swept in doubles.
In the South Coast League:
No. 3 Mater Dei 9, No. 7 Capistrano Valley 9 (Mater Dei wins in games, 73-71)--Melissa Esmero and Mary Hung each won in the final round of singles, 6-1, to lead visiting Mater Dei (12-2)..
Mission Viejo 14, Trabuco Hills 4--Britni Wenck and Annie Chang won, 6-3, 6-2, 6-1, to lead host Mission Viejo (12-5).
In the Sunset League:
Esperanza 10, Edison 8--Kelly Six improved to 49-2 in singles, winning 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, to lead visiting Esperanza (13-4, 6-2). Edison is 6-9, 4-4.
In nonleague boys’ water polo:
Long Beach Wilson 16, No. 9 Villa Park 6--Nick Pacelli scored four goals for visiting Villa Park (13-10). Tony Azevedo led Long Beach Wilson (21-0) with nine goals.
