In an interview with Sen. Dale Bumpers (D-Ark.) (Opinion, Aug. 30), Edwin Chen stated that Bumpers is the last Southern liberal, but Sen. Bob Graham (D-Fla.) is also a Southern liberal. According to the most recent edition (1997) of “Who’s Who in Congress,” in 1996, Sen. Graham voted the way that President Clinton wanted in 86% of his votes, and he only received a 15% rating from the American Conservative Union. He must be liberal, and according to recent polls, he’ll be reelected this year.
