OUTLOOK
Brethren Christian lost the lease on its campus in Cypress and is making do at a former middle school in Huntington Beach. The shift was a painful one for the Warriors’ football program, which lost seven starters to league rival Cerritos Valley Christian. But Brethren Christian did hold onto a few prized possessions, including Escanes, the team’s leading tackler last season. Polley is another solid defensive returner who was third on the team in tackles and had two interceptions last season. Wahl is the Warriors’ most dominant lineman on both sides of the ball. Farris, a speedy wide receiver, has been timed at 4.49 in the 40-yard dash and will be the main target for Painter, a strong-armed quarterback who developed significantly this summer at the quarterback camp of former El Toro coach Bob Johnson.
