Metrolink, in conjunction with the Ventura County Transportation Commission, will run a special express train this weekend to the California Beach Festival at San Buenaventura State Beach.
The train--which participants can ride at no charge--will leave Sunday at 9:10 a.m. from Chatsworth for the Ventura festival.
“We aren’t ready to let summer end without one last day at the beach, and taking the Metrolink train to get there will make the expedition easy,” said Nancy Grasmehr, the transportation commission’s chairwoman.
Only one round-trip train will be available.
The train is scheduled to make stops in Simi Valley at 9:28 a.m., in Moorpark at 9:42 a.m., in Camarillo at 9:55 a.m., in Oxnard at 10:17 a.m., and to arrive at the county fairgrounds at Seaside Park at 10:30 a.m.
A Metrolink train is scheduled to leave the fairgrounds at 3:30 p.m.
