Purdue Is Choice for Taft’s Hance
Brandon Hance of Taft High has become the third quarterback from the region to accept an NCAA Division I scholarship before his senior year, committing to Purdue.
Hance took unofficial visits to Clemson, Wisconsin and Boston College, among others, before selecting Purdue because of its emphasis on the passing game.
“I felt like their passing attack was something that could fit my style,” he said.
Hance, 6 feet 1 and 187 pounds, led Taft to the City Championship last season and was an All-City selection. He has grown an inch and gained 15 pounds in the last year.
He joins Matt Cassel of Chatsworth, who selected USC, and Zac Wasserman of Westlake, who chose Penn State, as quarterbacks who made early commitments.
