Despite parental complaints of overcrowding, the Orange Unified School District did not make any decisions about expanding Running Springs Elementary School at its meeting last week. According to district spokeswoman Judy Frutig, the school board has agreed that the elementary school--which on opening day had to use four portable classrooms--needs to be expanded, and it is considering options to add more classrooms. The board is expected to consider the issue and possibly issuing bonds to support expansion at its Sept. 9 meeting.
