The school board voted unanimously Tuesday to elect Eileen Walsh to serve as school board president next year.
Board members said Walsh was chosen because of her commitment to areas such as diversity, a district program that trains students for the work force upon graduation, and fiscal management to maintain checks and balances in the district.
Walsh replaces Steven Rabago, who returns to his regular position as a school board member.
